When you turn, don't use your head.
Son Nari x Garion's New Year open class — what looks like a head roll in a tilt turn is actually your chest moving. And whether a wave or a turn comes after the "up" is decided by your feet.
Why this video
A tilt turn looks like a big head swing, so a lot of people lead with the head. Son Nari's rule is firm — don't use your head when you turn. What looks like a head roll just happens to look that way — what's actually moving is your chest.
Tilt turn and the trending pattern
- A chest-made head roll — don't throw your head, let your chest move and let the head just follow. - Give it more timing — leave room to wait for your leader. - The fork after the up — the moment you go up, it can branch into a wave or a turn. Tap, and you get a wave; basic step, and you get a turn. Turning out of the up is the trending pattern right now.
Tap and you get a wave, basic step and you get a turn. You have to pick one.
One thing for today
On your next turn, try forgetting about your head and just thinking about where your chest is pointing. You'll get less dizzy, and ironically it'll look even more "tilt."
