[Bachata Fanfic] Princess Raquel from the Stars

Far, far away on a distant star, there lived Princess Raquel.

Far, far away on a distant star, there lived Princess Raquel. The princess loved stargazing. So every night she'd peer through her infinite-zoom telescope, built with special advanced technology, watching all the things happening on other stars here and there.

Then one day, all across a certain shining green star, she spotted people huddled up close together in dark places every night, collectively wiggling to music. The princess was fascinated.

The princess ordered a royal servant to go find out what this was all about. The servant, who was deeply hooked on some pointless game where you hit a ball with a stick and try to sink it into a hole in a set number of strokes, couldn't be bothered — they did a sloppy little investigation and reported back.

"This dance is called bachata, and it's apparently so scandalous that it's shunned even on that star. It's mainly known as a dance witches perform while hunting, to stir up the wild instincts of animals."

And as so-called "evidence," they presented a clip from a show where that star's famous comedian Shin Dong-yup and writer Huh Ji-woong sat around cackling.

'No. That's not it. There's something there!' Princess Raquel instinctively knew that while this dance might look a little racy at first glance, it was actually an incredibly scientific and beautiful dance.

And the music — oh, the music was so good. So every night she watched the dance through her telescope. She even wrote up a proposal herself and sent it to that star's greatest developer, getting a recording feature added to the telescope.

Then she began analyzing and editing the massive amounts of footage, adding subtitles, and tucking it all away in her secret honey jar. The jar filled up in no time, and she had to keep ordering new ones.

And even that wasn't enough — at last she started trying to dance it herself. But it wasn't easy. The princess got discouraged, but she never gave up — night after night she kept watching those earthlings who wiggled so very well, and followed right along.

'Maybe I just can't do it…' As the princess sat there feeling sad, a voice rang out from far away. "You are invited to Planet Earth. We'll send a spaceship and a handsome captain — hop on and come on over~"

The princess asked, "Who are you?"

The voice replied, "I'm 'Naerisson,' the godmother of bachata on Planet Earth~"

And then a spaceship appeared right before the princess's eyes. A perfectly presentable man from Planet Earth stepped out of it and said, "I am Captain Garyong, here to escort you, Princess, all the way to Planet Earth."

When the princess opened her eyes, she was stunned. There she was, under dazzling lights washing over her whole body, surrounded by countless ladies of Planet Earth.

They were all beautiful, and every single one of them was holding up a phone, gazing at Princess Raquel. And then the music began to play. It was the very song Princess Raquel had adored so much. Before she knew it, the princess was rushing out onto the stage, dancing.

The moves that had never, ever worked began flowing out freely, riding the music. It was the most beautiful dance of all.

And above the dancing princess's head, the tiny twinkling stars of the galaxy swarmed in like drones and spelled out words.

Bachata is Beautiful

And that, they say, is the legend of Princess Raquel behind this demo.
