A Spanish bachata duo based in Barcelona. Marc (1998) and Marilyn (1983) — a couple who were already famous for their local classes and socials in Barcelona before Bachata Influence blew up.

Bachata Influence, the team they belong to, is one of the hottest currents in the European scene right now. It's a genre with a different texture from sensual, and they're a lineup regularly invited to major European festivals like Lyon, Kaunas, Pristina, and Andorra.

They're not overnight stars — they started from bachata sensual and earned their reputation in the Barcelona scene over years, and they're known for a dense, bootcamp-style way of teaching.

Marc & Marilyn were already super famous in Barcelona for their classes and socials, even before Bachata Influence! Especially Marc — the locals kept telling me he's the social dancers' first pick. Dancing socially with Marc feels like… he takes such good care of his partner, and his musicality is so good it feels like becoming one with the music.. Dancers who are obsessed with musicality usually end up making their partner tense or flustered, but Marc has none of that, truly. Marilyn's dancing has her own killer charm, and the leads who've danced with her say she's absolutely lovely.. And in real life their personalities are world-top… so kind, so considerate, so warm! Last year I visited their academy for private lessons — we ran over time and they still taught everything so thoroughly.. they even bought me lunch and coffee lol

The two of them have a style that's entirely their own. It's built on Bachata Influence, of course, but what they express feels different — the sensual feel we usually dance and the Influence feel blend into something really refined. This bootcamp's choreography comes across fun and free-spirited — a piece where you connect with each other and let the energy out!!! And their classes are genuinely fun. The energy blazes, and their chemistry is so good the whole class is a blast hahaha

This is their first visit to Korea, so I'd only seen them on video myself — but dancers who'd been to the Influence academy in Spain and Korean teachers alike named them their absolute first pick. So warm, takes such good care of people, teaching that's delicate and kind — that's what everyone kept saying. Marc & Marilyn are also returning in December for the Gangnam Bachata Festival, so I'm preparing hard with big expectations. Please cheer them on!
